HVAC Hygienic Specifications
|
- Cleaning Air Handling Units
- The complete air handling unit shall be cleaned
by hand, or pressure wash method, with acceptable biodegradable
coil and/or grease cleaner (Chem Aqua Shiny Side and/or Coil
Cleaner).
- Corrosion of cabinets, frame, dampers, louvers,
drain, and etc. shall be wire brushed and treated with polymeric
rust converter (Chem Aqua Conquest) and top coated with epoxy
paint (Rodda Roppon) as needed.
- Exposed friable internal fiberglass shall be
lagged and sealed with an acceptable coating (Childers CP 50A or
Chemspec Fix Soot) or replaced with new fiberglass (Manville
Linacoustic, Linacoustic, Linacoustic R or foil faced Micro-Aire
M/F).
- Air Distribution Systems
- Install complete access system with approved up
to 3.5 air tight sealing points or access doors.
- Access points/doors to be every 6' to 10' and at
every critical point (to include turning vanes, volume/fire
dampers, duct coils, VAV boxes, etc.) to accommodate cleaning.
- All loose contaminates shall be removed by hand
vacuum, mechanical agitation/brush as permitted by construction.
- Any exposed friable internal fiberglass shall be
sealed with approved sealant (Childers or fix Soot).
- The contractor shall protect facility environment
from contamination by the cleaning process with a HEPA
containment system designed so as not to hinder the client's
operations or environmental integrity.
- Every register is to be removed and washed with
an acceptable cleaner.
